Frizzabelle and the Circus

presented by Squishy Grapes

Frizzabelle and the Circus

When young Frizzabelle finds herself alone at a failing circus, she must help a crazy troupe of clowns, jugglers, and side-show weirdos step up to save their show.

"The show's climax, which is the circus performing, is one of the best scenes I've seen at the Fringe. The story and acting is good, there's good comedy, and it's, overall, a great show."

Twin Cities Daily Planet
Wendy Gennaula

"The last half of the show was a fun exploration of circus skills possessed by the cast. Not the Cirque du Soleil style stuff that seems to reign supreme in this metro area, but standard, good, old fashioned PT Barnum style circus skills. And it was both fun and funny."

Frizzabelle Music

The apparently interactive musical score of Frizzabelle was fun and added to the circus quality of the work. Congratulations to Flyod the Mime (Peter Baker) for his sound sense of whimsy and classic SFX.

Go ahead run away join the circus.

Juggler, acrobatics, a continuous whip cream pie in the face joke, and musical accompanist that added to the frivolity and humor. It was a pure circus experience of slap stick and visual joyful jokes. You may will ask I can run away with the circus

Not great.

For young kids this might be a fun show, but for anyone who knows no one in the company(me). it had virtually no story, and sub par talent. Two kitties for the 2 jugglers.

Delightful! Uplifting! Joyful!

Howels the Clown (Spencer Faust) shows great acrobatic skill and acting talent, and Floyd the Mime (Peter Baker) is a superb actor and music composer. The two of them have created a fabulous finale, with the clown performing a terrific break dance to original music. The entire ensemble entertains in the true sense of the word, like a small-town circus. The story can be enjoyed by all ages -- it moves along quickly (after a slow start), and uproarious laughter is heard from the audience throughout the show. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 kitties is b/c the directing could have improved a few spots where things didn't quite click. The cast works well together, light-heartedly laughing at themselves and handling little production glitches with aplomb. Highly recommended!

A slow start leads to lots of fun with hilarious clowns and circus acts that make you feel like you're sitting ringside at a real circus. The cast puts all their energy into this show and do a very fine job. The two stars are Frizzabelle who is just adorable, with strong acting skills and Howels the Clown who is a daredevil dancer.

Not only does this show have suspense, action and belly-laughs - it is the only Fringe Fest show with a spinning bowtie!

Aside from some weaknesses in the script and a few weaknesses in the cast, this was a fun show. Great for kids. Millie Annis as Frizzabelle was absolutely adorable. Both of the clowns were great! The highlight of the show comes with the break dancing. Amazing talent!

Great fun!

Lots of clowning around

What fun! You will see circus-worthy performances indeed, with daredevil stunts and juggling, sideshow characters and acrobatics, clown tricks and breakdancing. the show starts with the story of how Frizzabelle ends up at the circus, and when the clowning around starts, the crowds are all smiles. Fun for everyone!
